Is your VIZIO TV acting up, freezing, or simply running too slow? Or maybe you are planning to sell it and want to completely wipe your personal information? The best way to fix all these issues is by doing a Factory Reset.
A factory reset will erase all your custom settings, downloaded apps, and account details. It brings the TV back to exactly how it was when you first took it out of the box.
Don't worry, the process is very easy. Here is exactly how to do it, whether you have your remote control handy or not!
If your remote is working fine, this is the easiest and fastest way to reset your TV. Just grab your remote and follow these quick steps:
Turn on the TV: Press the Power button on your VIZIO remote.
Open the Menu: Press the Menu button (it sometimes looks like a gear icon) on your remote.
Go to System Settings: Use the arrow keys to scroll down and select System.
Find Reset & Admin: Scroll down the list and choose Reset & Admin.
Select Factory Reset: Highlight and select the option that says Reset TV to Factory Defaults.
Enter the PIN: If your TV asks for a passcode, the default VIZIO PIN is usually 0000.
Confirm: Select Reset to confirm your choice.
Your TV will now turn off, reset its memory, and turn back on. This might take a few minutes, so just let it do its thing!
Lost your remote? Or are the batteries dead? No problem at all! You can still easily reset your TV using the physical buttons located directly on the television.
Turn on the TV: Make sure the TV is powered on.
Find the Buttons: Look for the physical buttons on your TV. They are usually located on the bottom right corner, the left side, or on the back panel.
Press Two Buttons Together: Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Input button at the exact same time. Keep holding them for about 10 to 15 seconds.
Wait for the Screen Prompt: A message will pop up on your TV screen telling you how to reset the TV to factory defaults.
Confirm the Reset: Let go of both buttons. Now, press and hold only the Input button for about 10 seconds.
The screen will go black, and the TV will start wiping its data to reset.
