It is incredibly frustrating when you sit down to watch a movie, and your Vizio Smart TV refuses to connect to the internet. If you are staring at a "No Network Connection" screen, don't worry!
This is a very common issue, and you do not need to be a tech expert to fix it. Just follow these simple, step-by-step solutions to get your TV back online.
This might sound too simple, but it is the most common mistake! Wi-Fi passwords are case-sensitive.
Make sure you are using capital and lowercase letters exactly as they appear on your router.
Check if you accidentally typed a number instead of a letter (like a "0" instead of an "O").
Sometimes, your TV just needs a quick nap to clear out tiny bugs. A power cycle is better than just turning the TV off and on with the remote.
Unplug your TV's power cord directly from the wall outlet.
Look for the physical power button on the TV itself (usually on the back or bottom edge).
Press and hold that power button for 10 to 15 seconds.
Plug the TV back into the wall and turn it on. Try connecting to Wi-Fi again.
If the TV is not the problem, your router might be.
Unplug your Wi-Fi router from the power outlet.
Wait for a full 60 seconds.
Plug it back in and wait a few minutes for all the lights to turn green or stop flashing.
Go back to your TV and check the connection.
If your router is in another room, the Wi-Fi signal might not be strong enough to reach your TV.
Check your phone while standing next to the TV. If your phone only has one or two Wi-Fi bars, the signal is weak.
The Fix: Try moving your router closer to the TV. If that is not possible, you can buy a cheap Wi-Fi extender or connect the TV directly to the router using an Ethernet cable.
Sometimes, the TV's network settings get mixed up. Turning on a setting called "DHCP" can help the TV find the internet automatically.
Press the Menu button on your Vizio remote.
Go to Network and press OK.
Select Manual Setup.
Look for DHCP. If it is turned OFF, turn it ON. If it is already ON, turn it OFF, wait 5 seconds, and turn it back ON.
If you have tried everything above and your TV still will not connect to Wi-Fi, you might need to wipe the TV clean and start fresh.
Important Note: A factory reset will delete all your downloaded apps and log you out of your accounts. You will have to set up the TV like it is brand new.
Press the Menu button on your remote.
Scroll down to System or Admin & Privacy.
Select Reset to Factory Settings or Reset to Factory Defaults.
The TV will ask for a PIN. The default code is usually 0000.
Confirm the reset. The TV will restart and guide you through the initial setup process again.
